Fuel surcharge amendment

In response to escalating fuel prices Air New Zealand has increased the fuel surcharge for travel between Japan and New Zealand. This amendment will be applied to all tickets issued on or after 1 October, 2006.

The amended fuel surcharge as below each way between Japan and New Zealand will apply to all tickets issued.

The fuel surcharge is applied in addition to the existing insurance surcharge of USD3.10 each way between Japan and New Zealand. The combined amount of these two surcharges will be shown under the ticket code "YQ".

Terms of application

  • The fuel surcharge is applicable to all ticketed passengers.
  • The fuel surcharge shall be collected in addition to the applicable airfares and charges.
  • The Insurance surcharge of USD3.10 Fuel surcharge of USD66.00 or USD113.00 each way applies to adults, children or infants.
  • In the case of a ticketing requiring to be refunded, the combined amount of the surcharges is to be refunded.

Conditions for Fuel surcharge revision

Air New Zealand will reduce the fuel surcharge in the following conditions:

  • If Singapore Kerosene Jet (Platts Oilgram) remains below USD80.00 per barrel for 30 consecutive days Air New Zealand will reduce the fuel surcharge to USD 108.00.
  • If Singapore Kerosene Jet (Platts Oilgram) remains below USD75.00 per barrel for 30 consecutive days Air New Zealand will reduce the fuel surcharge to USD 98.00.
  • If Singapore Kerosene Jet (Platts Oilgram) remains below USD65.00 per barrel for 30 consecutive days Air New Zealand will reduce the fuel surcharge to USD 66.00.
  • If Singapore Kerosene Jet (Platts Oilgram) remains below USD60.00 per barrel for 30 consecutive days Air New Zealand will reduce the fuel surcharge to USD 48.00.
  • If Singapore Kerosene Jet (Platts Oilgram) remains below USD50.00 per barrel for 30 consecutive days Air New Zealand will reduce the fuel surcharge to USD 23.90.
  • If it remains below USD42.00 per barrel for 30 consecutive days, Air New Zealand Limited will remove the fuel surcharge.

The fuel surcharge is subject to change without notice.
