New Zealand Domestic Travel
Travelling safely during COVID-19
All of New Zealand is at Alert Level 1. For information about the Alert System please visit the NZ Govt site.
Here's everything you need to know about domestic travel during Alert Level 1.
Physical distancing is still recommended at the airport and while boarding at Alert Level 1. Where possible we will allocate additional space to support physical distancing on board. We recommend checking-in online or via the Air NZ mobile app before heading to the airport.
All passengers are required to wear a face-covering in the airport and on all Air New Zealand operated flights. Passengers are welcome to wear their own face-covering and we will continue to make masks available. Please check the government website before you travel to make sure your face covering is fit for purpose.
We are taking extra steps to ensure all our aircraft, lounges, and airports are frequently cleaned. We are regularly cleaning our aircraft with antiviral products, approved for use by aircraft manufacturers and by the World Health Organisation. Hand sanitiser is readily available on board all aircraft for customer and crew use. Face masks are also available on board for those who do not have one.
